We understand that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year has been an anomaly. For some it may be difficult to pay the camp fee. Please contact us by email and let us know. In those cases of need, we will offer a pay-what-you-can exemption.

SUMMER DRUM CAMP - 2022 (ONLINE)

Join Artist/percussionist Marcus L. Miller for a week of summer drumming adventures. Learn to play the drum set rhythms and styles of the U.S., Brazil, the Caribbean and more. Whether you’re a novice, intermediate, advanced, (or just simply curious about the drums), this camp has something for you.
During this 1-week intensive program, participants will learn the history, role & function of the drum set. The fundamentals will be stressed! Concepts covered include application of the rudimentary style, sight reading, and playing by ear. Styles of music covered will include jazz, blues, rock, world, and funk.
Campers will study with artist/percussionist Marcus L. Miller. Miller’s career has encompassed both the aspects performance & education. He brings with him over 40 years of knowledge and experience. Students will benefit from their interaction with Miller, the counselors as well as with their fellow campers. The participants will work together toward their potential in a constructive and friendly atmosphere.
Regardless of your experience level, this camp will engage and enhance the knowledge and skill level of each participant. Campers will receive instruction in sight-reading musical notation, application of the 26 traditional Western rudiments, techniques and patterns for the drum set.
